Some people are particular about their New Year’s resolutions, carefully setting goals that will lead to improvements in their lives. In some circles, it becomes a challenge to see who will break their resolution first. Then there are others who don’t believe in New Year’s resolutions at all, as a matter of conviction or simply because they’ve “been there, done that, doesn’t work.” There’s another way to approach New Year’s resolutions that might actually relieve some of the pressure – it’s finding out what God has in mind as we begin a new year. This Sunday we are going to the book of Isaiah in the Bible for this kind of encouragement and affirmation. God has specific instructions – to “arise and shine because their light has come.” What does that mean and how do we do that in a world of competing priorities and seemingly so many obstacles in our paths? Join us on Sunday to find out. We meet at Innis Town Hall, 2 Sussex Ave, in downtown Toronto, at 10:30 a.m. See you there.
