Grace Changes Everything

Grace Changes Everything – Part 7

We often hear the word diversity used to describe the culture of our country. It is popular to support diversity… of thought, of people groups, and ways of doing things. It is often viewed as a requirement for a mature society – to be able to embrace what is different from our views or background. And it’s used as a means of generating original fresh new ideas – a result of bringing people together with different perspectives and life experiences. But reality is, diversity often produces disagreements and tension in relationships. Left to our own devices, we can use our differences to make comparisons of who is superior to the other, or who is more highly regarded in another’s eyes. But grace changes everything. Grace never produces this kind of pride. Why is that? What can we learn from the book of Galatians in the Bible, that will change everything? Join us as we continue looking at the apostle Paul’s letter to the people of Galatia.

Grace Changes Everything

Grace Changes Everything – Part 4

Have you ever heard a person in business, in sports, or even in everyday life, describe a situation as a ‘game changer’? It’s something that happens, often unexpectedly, that totally changes the outcome of a situation and causes you to see it in a new light. You could be working on a project and encountering obstacles that seem insurmountable, when someone from outside the team comes up with an idea that gives new hope for a successful resolution. Or it’s a nail biting playoff series and it looks like your favourite team is about to lose, when a player makes a move that gives your team the edge. You may be reading a story and the author introduces a new character that takes the plot in an exciting new direction. The idea of “grace” in the Bible can be like that. Understanding what God means by His free and unmerited favour towards us can have implications that are so profound, that when embraced, it’s a game changer in your life.

Grace Changes Everything is a 12 part teaching series through the book of Galatians. Over the summer, we’ll be walking through this incredible book full of explanations and evidence for God’s grace. We hope that this series will help each of us see and live our lives in a fresh new way.

Canada 150

Canada 150: God Keep Our Land

This Canada Day we celebrate our 150th year as a nation. Our story is one of both incredible blessing as well as challenge. Our nation is diverse and consists of those with deep generational roots – some brand new – and everything in-between! What will the future hold? What should be our attitude and contribution to our country? An even deeper question for us to ponder is, “does God have anything to say about how we should approach our future as Canadians?”
