“If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?” You may have heard this question asked before, and likely in a philosophy class. At first it seems like a trivial question. But it has been used to evoke heated debates about observation and knowledge of reality. You could also ask: “If someone is unaware of eternity, or does not believe in eternity, does eternity really exist?” Then again, if you are someone who believes in eternity, you might be accused of being arrogant: “What makes you think you are so important that you should live forever?” The underlying question is about your destiny…after you have completed your time on this earth. No doubt you will encounter different viewpoints. Why should anyone care about eternity and how would it shape your perspective today? We’ll take a closer look as we complete our series on the Unshakable Life.
