Ladies of the GTA! Please join us for a special Christmas Tea this Saturday.
Afternoon tea, or “High Tea” is a tradition that is believed to have started with Anna, the 7th Duchess of Bedford in the early 19th century. At that time, the custom of serving dinner as late as 9pm left the Duchess very hungry in the late afternoon. So she would order tea, bread and butter and cakes to be served in her room. This was thought to be an excellent idea and the habit caught on. Thus the afternoon English tea was born.
We will recreate the experience this Saturday for the ladies of Every Nation GTA, and guests!
