Olympic athletes are known for devoting endless hours to perfecting their sport. Have you ever watched a figure skater go through a routine without a difficult turn or jump? You almost feel let down. But then out comes a skater who attempts a perilous move and achieves it. Not only is the athlete satisfied but the audience gets more out of it, too. Why is that?
