What’s Important – Part 6 – Diversity

Diveristy

A famous poet once wrote: Variety is the spice of life. Why is variety, or diversity, important today? What does it really mean and do? For one thing, diversity teaches us to accept differences in others and look beyond what we see – our language, culture, upbringing. It teaches us to be more open and accepting and in that process makes us more loving. It sounds wonderful, but is it really possible? Consider that there are over 7 billion people on our planet today and no one person is exactly like another. What was God thinking when He created us? Especially as there seems to be a human condition within us that initially resists anything that is different to us. Still, the Bible paints a picture of one day a people from every nation, tribe and tongue living together in perfect harmony. Is that just a pipe dream? We’ll talk about that this Sunday as we continue our series on What’s Important. Join us at Innis Town Hall @10:30 a.m.
