For many of us, Mother’s Day brings mixed emotions. Often it’s a time of joy and laughter, and thankfulness, as we celebrate our mom, or as we celebrate being a mom. But other feelings may also arise. Perhaps we have struggled with pain and disappointment because of a difficult relationship with our mom. Maybe as a parent, we are gripped by our own inadequacy. For many women, Mother’s Day reminds us that the hope to have a child of our own has yet to be fulfilled. We do not need to despair. This Sunday, we will talk about a mother’s heart, and see that whatever our situation, there is something to receive, and in turn give to others.
