Have you ever heard or used the expression: “He worships the ground she walks on”? Or it could be said of anyone who is infatuated with another person. You immediately get a sense that the couple is in love or, at the very least, one person is the focus of a great deal of attention and adoration. Worship as a word is often misunderstood or applied in a way that is far from its original intent or meaning. Worship is actually a lifestyle, and it is the lifestyle reflected in someone who calls him or herself a Christian. If that is so, what does that lifestyle look like? Is it automatic or is it learned? Does it just happen or does it grow? This Sunday, we’ll explore “worship” – one of the most misunderstood words in the English language.
