This Sunday we begin a three-part series where we take a step back from the commotion and emotion of the season and examine the simple yet profound Christmas story and its meaning to us today. With many of the musicals and decorations and television celebrations that we are exposed to at this time of year, it is easy to get caught up in the fiction and fables and fantasy of the season. But is Christmas really about sleigh bells and mistletoe and presents under the tree, or is there more? What were the documented historical events that shaped that first Christmas? And how did the seemingly random set of circumstances faced by a young couple set the stage for a saga that would be depicted in everything from high art to children’s plays. What about your own life? You may be facing circumstances that, on the surface, seem disconnected and random… but are they really part of something larger setting the stage for the saga of your own life’s journey? You may be surprised by what you learn as we meet this Sunday at Innis Town Hall, 10:30 a.m. See you there.
