All you have to do is listen to the news each day to appreciate that our world is in a state of disrepair – it seems that corruption, hatred, and evil are everywhere. Yet we learn in the Bible that God loves the world… John 3:16 starts by saying, “For God so loved the world…” It is among the most popular passages in Scripture, but probably one of the most misunderstood as well. In order to understand God’s love for the world, it is important to understand the nature of God first. That’s what we will do together on Sunday as we conclude our series on “Love.” In fact, we’ll discover that the greatest love of all is not our love for another person, as many popular songs often suggest, but rather it is God’s love for the world.
